How to put an elastic ligature on your brace?
One of our visitor was interested to know how to put an elastic ligature on the braces.
Well, most of the time we’re not the ones to do this, since it would be pretty difficult. In order to put a ligature over the braces, one needs excellent light, another set of eyes (the mirror thing wont’ work too well) and some special dentist instruments we don’t normally own. Trying to put a screwdriver or needle in your mouth for this is not a good idea (you will hurt your mouth/tongue) not to mention these are dirty and not suitable to go into your mouth.
So, don’t worry. Should you have issues with your ligs, just contact your orthodontist, he’s there to help

Do all orthodontists have the same color ligatures?
Most of them time these doctors have all kinds of colours so that any patient might find the right one or even the right colour combination. A lot of their patients who wear regular braces (those needing ligatures) try to make them nicer by using all kinds of colours and combinations.
Since there aren’t too many suppliers, I assume most orthodontists kinda have all colours the supplier can give. Don’t worry, you’ll have some nice ones to chose from.

Invisalign: can you just wear overnight?
Not only you can wear Invisalign overnight, you will wear it. The Invisalign treatment relies on some plastic aligners that go “clothe” your teeth. These plastic trays need to be worn as much as possible (over 20 hours if you can or more). You take them out to eat and then clean teeth and then you put them back.
So, prepare to wear your Invisalign at nights too. You will be able to sleep with no problems, so don’t let this scare you

Great post and advice. An amateur should never tried to perform medical procedures themselves. They should seek the expertise of a licensed professional.

Invisalign at night?
Right before bed (right after brushing and flossing!) is a great time to pop in your new aligner when you are changing from one to another – this allows you to sleep off those first few hours when the new tray will be at its very tightest.

Invisilign does wonders and can straighten your teeth without having to worry about braces(if you’re embarassed to get braces). Of course braces are much more effective, but with invisilign you can wear it anywhere and people will not notice the difference. We have that option at our dentist office and I think all dentist offices should as well.

Many people become concerned when I tell them that they have to sleep with their Invisalign aligners on, but majority of them have no problem with this as the aligners are quite comfortable.

Wearing an elastic ligature is not the job for us to do; it is for the orthodontist, as it needs some of the dentist instrument that we do not own. Whenever there is problem there is orthodontist to help us. Yeah all orthodontist have the same color ligatures so that when the patient wants any color they can choose and can even make a good combination of different color. Patients who wear regular braces use all kinds of colors combination to make themselves nice. We usually take out while eating and cleaning and should wear at least 20 hours or more. Wearing overnight did not cause any problem and you should wear it too in order to bring good result.

Thanks for the advice. Cosmetic dental and orthodontic procedures have to be done carefully after considering the person health and the need for the procedure. If there are other serious health concerns, a cardiologist or primary care physician should be consult before any dental and orthodontic issues are address. Unless the dental or orthodontic problems affect the individual ability to speak or eat, they should not be consider a priority for someone with otherwise fragile health

The assistant forgot to add Elastic Ligature on my bottom braces.
I swear, I get all the stupid assistants. I’m not kidding.
I have to keep pushing in the arch wire back into the bracket.
Really, can’t people learn to do their job?
