Will braces fix my ugly teeth?

The orthodontic treatment is started because of our misalignments and malocclusions. The teeth are not straight and this can cause problems when it comes to oral hygiene and also the bite. Some patients also face pain in the jaws, others don’t have this problem, but still consider their teeth to be ugly.
The “ugly” teeth can be caused by many possible problems:
- imperfect tooth shape. They are either too bit or too small, showing too much gum or too little and this might offer a look you are not pleased with
- there might be cavity problems, tooth colorations and other issues that need the dentist’s attention
- the teeth are not aligned as they should and this causes that “ugly” look.
As you can see here, there are more possible issues you might face and more causes for your imperfect smile. Orthodontics takes care of your tooth alignment and bite, the others (if they are to be blamed too) will be fixed to provide you the look you want.
Even if we think that orthodontics is meant for beauty (and this is the idea we get from all those perfect smile advertisements), in the end this is a “side” result of the teeth being aligned in a healthy way. Your orthodontist is concerned with your crooked teeth since this is a health problem, but the result is a very good looking one.
So .. yeah, orthodontics and braces if you will can fix your ugly teeth. Any system you’ll use (you already have the information here about all kinds of braces and aligners) will straighten your teeth and give you that perfect smile. And, if needed, the other issues will be taken care of (if the “ugly” teeth weren’t only caused by the orthodontic treatment).

For those people who may be worried that braces will make them uglier, invisible braces are a great option, though no one should ever be ashamed of wearing braces!

Braces don’t make anyone look ugly, at least that’s what I think. I didn’t want to wear Damon since I thought I’d look bad. After I started wearing Invisalign, I also met many braced patients at the clinic I go to and I realized braces do look good. At least the Damon braces are pretty nice. I kinda regret being a chicken now
In my country orthodontics is something new since it’s VERY expensive for us. This means very few people can undergo such a treatment and it’s something weird for many. We tend to be ashamed of being in such situation, though there shouldn’t be ANY shame. We are trying to keep our teeth healthy and move them to the correct position. Still the people who’d stare make us think twice and it’s a pity.
Anyway .. the result makes it worth all the effort. All the uneasyness and weirdness we might feel

Braces can really fix your ugly teeth, people don’t have to be worried wearing braces. Braces are visible, but do remember wearing braces is far trendier these days, thanks to celebrity wearers like Tom Cruise. If you want braces can even be temporarily removed for a special occasion.

I’d get braces any day over the other, more lucrative fixes, such as veneers. The problems with these is that they only mask the problem. Sure, braces are cosmetic, but they also dual in function given the fact that they re-position your teeth (as mentioned in the post). In the end, the choice is yours, mask the problem or find a solution for it.

Braces are more than cosmetic, they can prevent future problems and complications for dental surgery if its needed for other problems that arise in the future. Some find braces cute or fashionable like previously said.
Braces are also a cheaper alternative to a later tooth straightening procedure which can be performed when your teeth have stopped growing, this is very expensive but much faster and more painful

Probably the biggest fear is having those ugly looking train tracks on your teeth for a couple of years. Ultimately, the braces will pay off and your confidence will be boosted significantly when its time to take them off.

Great info! Braces can straighten your bite/teeth but won’t fix other problems that might make teeth less attractive. Sometimes further cosmetic treatments are necessary(whitening, veneers, etc.)

Good explanation. many patients get braces thinking that is all they need. Many of them need further cosmetics after the braces are removed.

Great post. Many people only believe that they need braces and that they will be all good after that. But as you and I both know, that’s not always going to be true. In reality, a lot of people’s teeth become worse in terms of health after braces because a lot of people don’t take care of their teeth when they do have braces.

I think these days many people get braces who don’t necessarily need them. I’ve seen absolutely beautiful girls who don’t have straight teeth, so I don’t think it’s always the case that having a few crooked ones makes you “ugly” … I was supposed to get braces myself when I was younger but never did. My teeth are straight, but I have a cross-bite.

When I was a child braces were frankly, horrible! Wearing them opened you up to all sorts of ridicule from the other kids, with nicknames such as ‘Magnet Mouth’ and ‘Steely’ following me for years. And when Jaws from James Bond was at the cinema, my life became Hell. Thankfully, those days are well over. Today braces seem to be much more accepted than they used to be, infact, my son tells me they are now something of a fashion accessory. It beggars belief, but I am truly pleased.

Yeah braces can easily fix your ugly teeth and people do not have to be worried about wearing braces. Now days braces comes with different style like invisible which will help your ugly teeth. Braces doesn’t make anyone look ugly and are costly in some of the country so many patients hardly go for the treatment and in some place its cheaper.
Can I give up an idea about dental plan which some place are hard to go for the treatment. Once you join the membership plan, you will get savings while treatment, discounts depends on different plans its range from 10 to 30 %. Hope these will help out to the patients who can go for the treatment

Yeah orthodontics and braces if you will can fix your ugly teeth but its not that once you put the braces you should take care of it and your diet too if not the result will not be that good. Ugly teeth can be caused by imperfect tooth shape, cavity problem and when the teeth are not aligned properly. Any system will straighten your teeth and give you that perfect smile. To have clean and healthy teeth we should maintain the braces need and clean and rinse properly after taking something.
